First Home Buyers Save Big Thanks to Government Grants

25 Jan 2017

We feel like there are a lot of compelling reasons for people to buy our house and land packages in the Perth area. We always pick great locations and price land affordably. We have builder partners who can provide high quality homes at reasonable prices. The result is that our homebuyers have often bought new, high-quality homes in our land estates for less than the median price of comparable established homes.

If that was the only compelling reason to consider one of our house and land packages, it would still be enough, but it gets even better. If you are a first home buyer, you can save money by purchasing a new home, thanks to the First Home Owners Grant (FHOG).

What is the FHOG?

The FHOG is a grant from the Government that is designed to encourage Australians to buy homes. It is now intended to encourage Australians to buy new homes. This stimulates the construction industry and the economy as a whole. It also helps Australians buy their first homes and get out of the rental cycle.

The FHOG provides Western Australians with a grant of $10,000 to help offset the costs of buying a new home. In the Perth area, the total value of the property and home must be $750,000 or less for the buyer to be eligible.

There are eligibility requirements, but if you are an Australian citizen and you have never bought a home, you are probably going to “make the cut.”

New House and Land Packages = Less Stamp Duty

In addition, the Government also offers a First Home Owners Rate of Duty (FHOR) for stamp tax, which represents a large saving. Better yet, you only have to pay stamp tax duty on the land, not the building, if you are building a new home.
